Sensing, together

How the whole organisation perceives — before anything has a shape.

Some things need deciding. Others just need seeing, together. The Field is where the organisation perceives as one before any decision is on the table — and it decides nothing. Here’s a co-sensing, followed through in the running demo.

The Field — sensing into the unknown

The Field screen: 'We sense, together', a Call a co-sensing button, a live sensing 'Should we take on the north land?', and a completed, sensed thread.

Before anything has a shape, anyone can call the organisation into the Field to perceive together. This is the perception organ, not the decision organ — it decides nothing. A live sensing sits here (“Should we take on the north land?”), and finished ones stay as threads you can revisit.

02

Offer what you sense

Inside a sensing: 'The field is dark. Offer the first thing you sense, and watch it light up,' with a palette of I see / I feel / I need / I fear / I hope and a composer.

You don’t cast a vote. You offer what you see, feel, need, fear and hope — as often as you like. The field starts dark; each offering lights it up. Every voice weighs exactly the same, because this is the organisation sensing itself, not tallying sides.

03

The themes gather — and the whole leans

The live field showing offerings arranged as points of gravity and warmth, with the note 'tap a star to resonate — every voice equal — the strongest well drifts to the centre — the lean.'

As offerings come in, an AI gathers them into themes and shows where people converge as gravity and warmth — the strongest well drifts to the centre. Not a vote bar with a winner; a living picture of where the organisation is leaning. You can tap a star to resonate, and ask the agent to reflect the blind spots.

04

It ends in awareness, or a lean

The end of a sensing: a choice between 'Crystallise — tasks & a vector' and 'End with awareness alone', beside a completed sensing whose outcome was 'Awareness was the outcome — and that's a good one.'

A sensing produces one of two honest things: shared awareness, or a vector — a gentle lean on the day-to-day that shows up where work happens and fades unless it’s sensed again. Nothing here binds anyone; a proposal only appears later if a task needs consent. And awareness alone is a valid ending — “the organisation attuned and saw itself.”

Why this matters

Direction, not a verdict

Co-sensing is how the group’s intelligence gets captured without being flattened into a vote. It informs direction; it never instructs. Every voice weighs the same, the whole can see where it leans, and nothing is forced — the sensing that quietly feeds every decision that comes after.
